 Cloudwatching Classes

Clear the mind, restore the body, lift your spirit

During these stressful and uncertain times, it is easy to get rattled and go into vigilant mode. Cloudwatching relaxes your focus, pulling your gaze away from the close-range and hunched, tense position we so often spend our days with into an upward focus. This triggers a calming effect for the body and mind.

Cloudwatching is a simple and fun technique that can reconnect with your peace and joy and go into a meditative state.

Learn more about the cloudwatching method during a free introductory class or dive deeper and commit to cultivating a practice of presence with Dr. Letty’s 21-day Cloudwatching lab.

RESTORATIVE YOGA

“What I love about restorative yoga is that when I am in a restorative yoga pose, the pose does the work. There is no doing on my part, instead just BE-ing happens.”
 —Letty

There is a science to restorative yoga. Restorative yoga are postures that promote deep relaxation for the body and mind. In order to have deep relaxation: body needs to be at absolute rest, body is comfortable temperature-wise (preferably warm since body temperature drops in deep relaxation), eyes are covered to block out light, quiet, and specific head positions to quiet the brain. Further, it is important that one feels psychologically safe. This is essential. Props such as pillows, blankets, and towels are used to support the body and/or keep the body warm at rest. This is a wonderful practice to create at home since you have all the essentials to promote deep relaxation. A 15-20 minute practice is ideal but even 5 minutes works! Restorative yoga is simply "relax-on-demand" which is an essential life skill.

Letty has been practicing restorative yoga since 2000. She has been a certified Relax and Renew® Restorative Yoga Teacher since 2003 as taught by the Senior Iyengar Yoga Master Judith Lasater, PhD and Iyengar Yoga Master Roger Cole, PhD. Letty has taken many trainings with them over the years.

Hike Sole 2 Soul® is a spiritually uplifting guided hike to work out your body, rest your mind and be with nature. Just show up and everything is taken care of. All that is required of you is to take one step at a time, breathe, and focus on you. A qualified certified personal trainer will be with you for guidance and support. Once you are comfortable with the hike, silent hikes are encouraged.

Hikes are generally anywhere from 1.5 to 4 miles in length and can take anywhere form 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on the hiker’s fitness level. You can expect moderate inclines and declines.

What if I am a beginning hiker, can I sign up? Absolutely! Prior to your first hike, all hikers are required to complete a health and fitness questionnaire to make this hiking experience safe, effective and fun for you. This is not a competitive fitness program. The hikes are designed for the beginner and intermediate hiker. It’s a wonderful way to leave the world behind so you can just be. Remember, if you have fun exercising, you are more likely to maintain your exercise program. FUN is key!

Where are the hikes? We enjoy hikes in the South Bay and the Peninsula areas.

Letty’s Intention: Letty’s intention for creating Hike Sole 2 Soul® is to share the joy of hiking. She has been leading hikes since 1996. There are many benefits of hiking. It improves cardiovascular capacity, tones and strengthens the body, and quiets the mind. Sole 2 Soul® Hikes are designed to release physical and mental tensions in a fun and nurturing way.
